The Santa Skivvies Run 2013

Helping Out While Stripping Down

It's that time of year again...a run that's not only fun and wild, but also raises money for a great cause.

The Santa Skivvies Run is an annual athletics event for elite athletes who...who am I kidding? It's an excuse for Bay Area folks to strip down to the bare minimums (yes we heard you, Scott Wiener) and rampage through the Castro. We depart in a sober and demure manner, (ha!) rain or shine, from the Lookout Bar (1600 Market Street, at Noe) on Sunday December 15 at 1PM. Supporters and onlookers welcome!

It's a lot of fun no matter how you participate. If you're up for the challenge, join me by registering to run, or come by the Lookout Bar on Sunday December 15. But get there early—this party gets packed!

What is the Santa Skivvies Run?

The Santa Skivvies Run is a festive romp through the streets of the Castro neighborhood to support the free programs and services of San Francisco AIDS Foundation. In just four short years, it has been come one of the city's most beloved holiday events.

Everyone is welcome at the Santa Skivvies Run—men and women, gay and straight, young and old. You can strip down to your underwear or don your favorite holiday costume. The event is about feeling free to express yourself while raising awareness and money to fight HIV/AIDS in our community.

The route is about a mile long and winds its way around the Castro district of San Francisco consisting of twists, turns, and hijinks.

Every runner gets a Santa hat, and there are always drink specials, holiday cheer and other surprises, and a very lively afterparty. Want to join us? You don't even have to take your pants off—volunteers to help put on the event are always appreciated!

About The SFAF

The SFAF helps by providing and supporting prevention efforts in multiple communities; providing care for those living with HIV/AIDS; addressing gay men's health issues through testing and outreach; working with needle exchange programs to reduce risk; addressing substance use and mental health issues; working to shape public policy locally, statewide and in our nation's capital; and helping to educate about prevention, testing and care, science, policy and research

And they do all this at no-cost or at low-cost to our community. But they can only do it through your donations.
